Forgot Credit Card Password? Or have all three incorrect password attempts? Is your credit card blocked? Then you need to follow the below process for getting it unblocked.
First and foremost is to understand, in case of incorrect password attempts, your Credit Card will be blocked and your existing password will be invalid.
To recover, you need to follow below steps:
- Importantly, your Credit Card will be unblocked automatically in next 24 hours. Kind of default behaviour with any of the credit card provider.
- You need to call up the customer care (18002335577 for axis bank) and opt for Tele Banking
- Before you can login to Tele Banking call, you need to generate a PIN for your credit card by entering the card number, answering some of the security questions (like DOB, last transaction details, last payment details)
- Once you have the Credit Card PIN generated, you can login to Tele Banking and then talk to the customer care
- Then they will ask you to goto Axis Bank web site > Click on Explore our Credit Cards > Click on Learn about Verified by Visa > then click on If you are already registered, Login.
- In the Login page click on “Forgot Password”
- Provide your Card Number > Expiry Date then submit, it will say
- So far all above steps are to help customer care personnel to confirm that you are in fact the Card Holder.
- Then customer care representative will take your request to Unblock your credit card
- Then you’ll be asked to do the Password Reset using the same page after an hour or so.
Login is in blocked state so unable to reset the password. Please call customer care to unblock the login and then try to reset the password!

Most banks these days implements auto unlocking of credit/debit cards in case of blocking due to incorrect password attempts. I hope the same applies for the Gift cards as well.
