WordPress Plugin: ERROR Something went wrong 500 You are not allowed

Scenario:

The WordPress plug-in “Next Scripts: Social Networks Auto Poster Options” (SNAP) fails to auto post your posts to “WP Based Blog” the WordPress.com blog. You’ll encounter below error in the SNAP logs:

[2016-04-26 13:29:16] – [Error] [WP – gunnalag.wordpress.com] – -=ERROR=- Array ( [pgID] => [isPosted] => 0 [pDate] => 2016-04-26 07:59:16 [Error] => -=ERROR=- Something went wrong – 500 : You are not allowed to do that. ) | PostID: 0 –
[2016-04-26 13:28:59] – [Error] [WP – gunnalag.wordpress.com] – -=ERROR=- Array ( [pgID] => [isPosted] => 0 [pDate] => 2016-04-26 07:58:59 [Error] => -=ERROR=- Something went wrong – 500 : You are not allowed to do that. ) | PostID: 0 –

Observations:

In my case all of this issue has started since my migrated my WordPress hosting from GoDaddy to BlueHost.  I’ve done various troubleshooting but in vain.  Below are my observations on this issue:

  1. Issue started when WordPress hosting changed from GoDaddy to BlueHost
  2. The plugin just posts fine to WordPress blog, if I change my hosting back to GoDaddy
  3. Reinstalling and Recreating all the SNAP settings even doesn’t help
  1. [Delete all SNAP Data] – This is a complete “Start Over”. This will delete all SNAP data from the posts and all SNAP settings including all configured networks.
  2. Deactivate the Plugin
  3. Delete the Plugin
  4. Installed the plugin afresh
  5. Activate the Plugin
  6. Added my “WP Based Blog”
  7. When I click “Submit Test Post to WordPress”, its now resulting in below error indicating that “Incorrect username or password.”.
  8. Y:[2016-04-27 16:30:11] – [Error] [WP – gunnalag.wordpress.com] – -=ERROR=- Array ( [pgID] => [isPosted] => 0 [pDate] => 2016-04-27 11:00:11 [Error] => -=ERROR=- Incorrect username or password. ) | PostID: 0 –
    [2016-04-27 15:35:32] – [Error] [WP – gunnalag.wordpress.com] – -=ERROR=- Array ( [pgID] => [isPosted] => 0 [pDate] => 2016-04-27 10:05:31 [Error] => -=ERROR=- Something went wrong – 500 : You are not allowed to do that. ) | PostID: 0 –

  9. Again in some time it results in previous error as shown below:
  10. Testing …

    Array
    (
    [pgID] =>
    [isPosted] => 0
    [pDate] => 2016-04-27 11:15:09
    [Error] => -=ERROR=- Something went wrong – 500 : You are not allowed to do that.
    )
    Array ( [pgID] => [isPosted] => 0 [pDate] => 2016-04-27 11:15:09 [Error] => -=ERROR=- Something went wrong – 500 : You are not allowed to do that. )

    FIX:

    1. Contacted BlueHost and they claim that there are no error/issues on their web server related to this plugin or reported error.  They do not support any plugin issues. I am requested to check with the plugin vendor
    2. Contacted SNAP forum support, they say they can’t really do anything here. They know as much as I do. WordPress.com throws “500 : You are not allowed to do that.” for it’s internal reasons. They don’t have any additional information about that. Only they can tell you what is going on.
    3. Contacted WordPress.com support and there is no response, at all.
