Buying furniture in Hyderabad

In Hyderabad, furniture wholesale market is located in Nampally Railway Station Road (Bus routes 49A from sec-bad or 9 from Punjagutta).  There you’ll find plenty of wholesale shops and major shops are open even on Sundays (till 5 PM or 8 PM).  It’s individuals job to self assess the quality the seller assures, it would be better if you can have a carpenter along with you to confirm the quality of the product.  Shopping in these areas work as long as furniture is of good quality otherwise you won’t get much service from these sellers in case of issues.  However, the cost effectiveness is more as the prices are very competitive.  A good one is Andhra Pradesh Furniture’s who sell any item on fixed rate and they claim all are made of teak wood. 

Alternatively you can go by brand with Home Town by Central, Home Center by LifeStyle, @Home, Style Spa, etc.,  Note to be remembered is with any of the furniture vendor, its very important to see the customer service and attitude as todays furniture is often coming with various issues.  As the brand name adds some more expectations on the service and attitude, they come at very high price compared to that of with whole sale markets.

Also, there are other much advertised furniture sellers in Hyd like Bantia Furniture, HouseFull, etc.,.  However, one should never buy from these stores as almost all of the furniture they make are with very cheap quality wood named as Compressed Malaysian Teak wood (name said by them).  They says that’s an imported wood and they manufacture the furniture with it.  However, this wood only works for a showcase purposes and not for real time load bearing.  You’ll see them in a short term getting broken or lowered in strength.  one should NEVER buy any furniture with Compressed Malaysian Teak wood, though they are sold at very cheap prices.
